It seems that Apple is not only one of the most profitable companies with its best ever quarterly sales, of its popular itouch and iphone. Now the technology world is holding its breath for a new arrival to the family of apple products.

This Wednesday Apple plans to launch a brand new product, with many fan’s guessing it will be the newly awaited tablet. Fuelled by a quote from the CEO Steve Jobs 'The new products we are planning to release this year are very strong, starting this week with a major new product that we're really excited about.'

With the event taking place at the much favoured Yerba Buena Centre for the Arts in San Francisco at 10 a.m. on January 27. What everyone is asking is what will they call this new product, rumours are that it could be; islate, itablet, ipad or even more concerning and dropping the famous i before the name, with just put simply 'tablet'!

A tablet however is a large flat screen device with no keyboard, which makes us wonder whether it will be much use, as you won’t be able to make calls like you can on the iphone, and with a touch-screen keyboard any typing is going to prove rather difficult. Perhaps this is the hint we all needed, that its primary use will be for multimedia experiences.
